If you look closely you can see 2 old tracks in this picture . Mr Hardy McCormick of Forest had a 1/2 mile horse track at this site. When the Jackson dirt tracks closed down at the end of 1966, Mr McCormick and friends took part of the horse track and made a 1/4 mile dirt track for auto racing. Bill Steadman said that he drove at every race there. They raced there for one short season in 1967. In 1968 Jackson International Speedway opened in Clinton and the Forest track closed down.
